Double Trapeze marquee at Wardlow in the Peak District

Marquee Hire Yorkshire

Beautiful curved tension tents — tightly stretched canvas, with walls for when the weather turns.

About our marquees

Our tents have unique curves and points like the rolling hills and rugged terrain of Yorkshire and the Peak District.

Our marquees are Trapeze tension tents. The canvas roof is pulled up into curved peaks, so they look like a stretch tent.

Our Trapeze marquees are the swiss army knife of tents.

They are built to a strong Canadian design and stand up to 60mph winds.

Without sides and flooring they are a cool shelter in the sun, or a dry place in the rain.

Sides go on when the weather turns. Flooring goes down for comfort.

What's included

Sidewalls are included in all our quoted prices, and so are setup and dismantle.

  • The marquee
  • Sidewalls
  • Flooring
  • Lighting
  • Furniture
  • Setup and dismantle

Our typical hire period is three or four days. Delivery and setup are included.

Lighting is usually fairy lights and uplights. Everything we use is LED, so it draws very little power.

We use Dandy Dura matting for the look of it, and because it dries quickly and washes.

Sizes and what they hold

Marquees join together, so we cover events from 20 people to 500. Sizes are given as T30 and T40, the Trapeze tent sizes in feet: a T30 is 20ft by 30ft (about 6 by 9 metres), a T40 is 30ft by 40ft (about 9 by 12 metres).

Tension tent sizeSeated and standing
Trapeze T30 — 20ft x 30ft (about 6 x 9 m)Seats 50. Standing 80.
Trapeze T40 — 30ft x 40ft (about 9 x 12 m)Seats 100. Standing 140.
One and a half TrapezeStanding 200, with room for a dance floor.
Double Trapeze — 2 x T40Seats 120 with a dance floor. Up to 280 standing.
Two and a half TrapezeSeats 160 with a dance floor. Standing 250.
Triple TrapezeSeats 240 with a dance floor. Standing 350.
Four TrapezeSeats 320 with a dance floor. Standing 450.
Four and a half TrapezeSeats 350 with a dance floor and bar area.

The T30 is a great size for a party. The T40 is a great size for a party with a dance floor. Four and a half is the most we have ever joined together.

From the crew
We ordinarily double the stated capacity when removing furniture for an event which is only standing, so a marquee which seats 60 with furniture and a dancefloor, would suit 120 standing and dancing with a dancefloor.

Our marquees suit any terrain

Grass fields, hard standing, gravel and everything in between. Our marquees can be erected on a variety of surfaces. A tension tent takes a range of pitch types and surface undulations. We don’t need it to be completely flat, although the flatter the better.

If the ground isn’t the best, we can put flooring down. We can even work with you to level the floor if that is something you need.

To help set-up happen faster, it’s important, if possible, that we can drive a van alongside to load and unload the equipment. This speeds up the set-up. If it’s not possible, we can bring extra crew to help with the carrying. Sometimes there is an extra cost if the carry is very far.

Stretch tent hire — with walls

Looking for stretch tent hire in Yorkshire? A Trapeze is a tension tent. The canvas is pulled tight into curved peaks, which gives it the look of a stretch tent.

The frames are rated up to 60 mph, with walls for poor weather, so the same marquee works all year round. If a forecast gets close to that, we'll be in touch before we build.

Sizes start at a T30, seating 50, and join up to four and a half, seating 350 with a dance floor and a bar. Flooring, lighting and furniture are in the price, so there's nothing extra to add for the look.

Questions about hiring a marquee in Yorkshire

What size marquee do I need for 100 guests?

A T40 seats 100, or 140 standing. If you want a dance floor as well, the double seats 120 with one.

How windy is too windy, and what are they rated to?

Rated up to 60mph. If a forecast looks like getting anywhere near that, we talk to you before the build.

Does the ground have to be flat?

No. Grass, hard standing, gravel and everything in between. We do not need it completely flat, though the flatter the better. If the ground is not the best, we can put flooring down. We can level it too, if you need that.

What is the biggest marquee you can build?

Four and a half Trapeze marquees. That seats 350 with a dance floor and a bar area. Four and a half is the most we have ever joined together.

Will the marquee be used for dining, or simply seating?
